Mr. Bassett has been a trial attorney for the past 45 years.  His emphasis has been in Personal Injury litigation.  Mr. Bassett received has BA degree from UCLA in 1965.  Thereafter, he served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army.  His service included a tour of duty in the Republic of Vietnam.  In that capacity, he commanded an Amphibious Boat Company along the central coast of Vietnam, Vung Ro Bay.

Upon completion of his military service, Mr. Bassett attended the University of Santa Clara Law School.  He graduated from law school receiving his JD degree in 1970.  After graduating from law school, Mr. Bassett served as a Deputy District Attorney for the County of Santa Clara.  In that capacity, he tried more than 75 jury trials and conducted more than 200 preliminary hearings.

In 1977, Mr. Bassett entered the private practice of law joining the law firm of Scher and Bassett in Sunnyvale, CA.  The civil practice was general in nature, with specialty and emphasis in Personal Injury.  Mr. Bassett has been a very successful Personal Injury attorney, and in 2015 chose to give back to his profession his skill and experience by adding mediation to his professional portfolio.  Mr. Bassett’s mediation fees are very reasonable, recognizing his commitment to give back to his profession.
